Holiday World of Ice
For the pre-Christmas "Lichtermarkt" we transformed the casting hall in the Duisburg-Nord Landscape Park into a glittering holiday world of ice.
For over a week, 13 international ice artists worked on transforming blocks of crystal-clear ice into filigree sculptures. In keeping with the season and our client schauinsland reisen, we created a mixture of Christmas and holiday motifs: Santa Claus comes with a surfboard, angels dance under palm trees made of ice, and a meter-high frosty sun in the backdrop of the stage stands for holiday feelings and the customer's logo.
A spectacular light show staged the ice sculpture installation wonderfully several times a day and thrilled the visitors, who were also fascinated by the "speed carving" integrated into the show. You can get an impression of the entire production in our short videos.

World record: The world's largest sun lounger made of ice
For the opening of the light market the visitors could experience a very special highlight, because our ice carvers had created beside the filigree ice sculptures also a special holiday symbol: an XXL sun lounger from 11 tons of ice. The ambitious goal: it should be the largest in the world.
Official measurements were taken during the opening ceremony. With a length of 6.25 m, a width of 3.59 m and a height of 1.10 m, the requirements were met. After two models in swimwear (!) had tested the frosty sunbed for its functionality, the world record could be certified by Olaf Kuchenbecker of the "Rekord-Institut für Deutschland" during the show.
And so, after the world record for the "tallest sand castle in the world" we have set the second record for our customer schauinsland reisen to Duisburg .
